Epicure is a multi-level marketing (MLM) company that I see more and more in my social media feeds. Reasonably someone else has talked about joining and are you trying to do your own research to see if he or she has created a good opportunity? And you wonder if you can make money with Epicure?

I applaud you for not just signing up blindly because you always have a good idea to know what you are going to get involved in before you nail your hard earned money to get started.

People who sell Epicure (or any MLM in general) will try to sound like the best investment in the world. But is it?

Can you make money with Epicure? We said that for sure because there is no income disclosure, but we will show you why you have a very good opportunity all money as an epicure advisor.

You better get right into it!

What is an epicure?

The epicurus began in 1997 by Sylvie Rochette, who, according to them Eye site, he wanted to share the healthy eating solutions he created for his family.

“At Epicure, we are a community that unites and inspires each other to bring together a healthy diet. Epicure is committed to sharing delicious meal solutions that use only the right, whole ingredients you can trust without ever compromising taste.”

Sylvie’s daughter, Amelia Warren, is the current CEO of Epicure.

Epicurus arrived in the United States. in the late summer of 2019.

There are various food related products on the website. Some of them include:

  • spices
  • dips
  • Meal sets
  • Herbs and spices
  • Popcorn
  • Dishes
  • Dishes and pans
  • Kitchen tools

So take a look at some of the products on sale and their prices. It is always nice to compare the prices of MLM products with those that are not MLM. Often usually a difference.

Epicure products

  • Burger spice (3.4 oz) = $ 8
  • Honey Mustard (8 oz) = $ 10
  • Chocolaty Temptation Cupcake Mix (pack of 2.9.4 oz per pack) = $ 9
  • Wok & Glass cover = 122 USD
  • Mandolin 4 in 1 = 22 USD
  • Angle blade = 12 USD

OK, comparing some of those prices to the prices of things we can find on Amazon or elsewhere.

Here’s a hamburger spice for $ 16.41. But it represents 24 oz compared to 3.4 oz from Epicure.

Burger spice from Amazon

Here’s a hand-held mandolin cutter from Amazon for $ 16.99.

Mandoline Slicer on Amazon

It’s not a huge price difference, but there are some other things to consider when buying a product through MLM, which is talked about in a minute.

Finally, here’s a wok with a glass lid.

Wok on Amazon

This is $ 71.99, plus free postage if you are a major member. Epicure is $ 122, and I would venture to assume that there will be expensive postage on that bill.

Convenience is an issue

To be fair, some of the product prices I looked at were about the same on Amazon as on Epicure. So I will deserve it for them.

However, as I mentioned, there are other things you need to consider when buying MLM products and it will get something through the minds of your potential customers. (I said something I was thinking about when I was just an MLM client, not a distributor.)

They will think for themselves:

“Why would I get this product on Epicure and have to pay for shipping and wait about a week for it when I can just get it on Amazon or go to Target and get there quickly and easily?”

One of the biggest disadvantages of selling to customers is that you have to convince them that the convenience still holds true. Because MLM products are just plain handy.

You have to pay in total for the products. You have to pay for shipping (which can really be expensive.) And you have to wait – sometimes weeks – to order.

How much does it cost to join an epicure?

To join Epicure, the Starter Kit will cost you $ 150 + tax + postage. In this regard, you get some business building tools (such as class planning envelopes, catalogs and order forms) plus various spices, oil blends and samples and various kitchen tools such as citrus presses, steam cooking, cutting boards and preparation bowls .

(I guess I can change from time to time.)

Unfortunately, it looks like you can take a peek at the starter kit on their website (they seem to have previously contacted you with a counselor), but here’s a video describing that kit.

Now he only lives his Starter Kit. I guess you’re looking for a favor with Epicure because you’re wondering if you can really make money with them.

In that case, you will also need to be eligible to receive full payments and bonuses. To qualify, you will need to have a $ 200 personal volume per month. (When you move more in rows, you get a maximum of $ 1,000.)

You can either sell for $ 200 or buy for personal use. Here counselors tend to run into problems. Because they buy it every month for themselves to stay qualified. It happens all the time …

Here are some additional costs that can be incurred as a consultant:

  • Gas for travel to parties and presentations
  • Travel by conventions
  • Food and drinks for banquets (if you are the host yourself)
  • Business cards
  • brochures
  • Tables / stands at fairs and other events
  • Inventory for personal sale
  • Customer inventory

These costs can really add up and you have to be careful here!

Epicure compensation plan

The Epicure Fees Plan appears to be available on their website only if you are logged in and have access to the back office. However, it also loads here it is, I’m afraid 24 pages, which is too scary considering I’ve seen plans with more than 50 pages!

Either way, it works in the most exciting way of reading.

But luckily, this YouTuber did us a favor and made a video explaining the compensation plan:

I’ll just give you a version of the cliff notes.

  1. As soon as you sign up, you can earn 25% on retail. (This also means that if you place a personal order, you get a 25% discount on the retail price.)
  2. If you have a team of 3 or more (with qualified odds), you can make a commission of 3% of their sales.

(Note: in the video it says, “I buy Epicure every month and never have to spend my own money.” There’s a good chance he’s spending as much as he earns each month, as I’ve seen with a lot of MLM advisors.)

There are three phases in Epicurus, with 10 different ranks.

Phase 1: Consultant

1. Consultant
2. Senior Consultant
3. VIP advisor
4. Executive Advisor

Phase 2: Leader

5. Leader
6. senior leader

Phase 3: Director

7. Director
8. Senior Director
9. Executive Director
10. Global Director

Here is the PV (personal volume) you need for each level for each calendar month:

  • Consultant = $ 200
  • Senior Advisor = $ 250
  • Manager = $ 500
  • Senior manager = $ 750
  • Leader = 1000 USD
  • Senior Leader = $ 1,000
  • Business Leader = $ 1,000
  • Director = 1000 USD
  • CEO = $ 1,000
  • National Director = 1000 USD

They are the only qualifying factors to increase each rank, but it gives you an idea of what you will personally have to bring to sales each month.

Epicurus revenue detection

Unfortunately, Epicure’s revenue disclosure seems to be available.

But okay, because I’ve seen enough revenue disclosure to know exactly what it’s going to say.

Almost no one makes money!

If you think it’s excessive, I have two connections to share with you.

First This one is from the FTC website, and the author says that over 99% of people lose money in MLM. In fact, it entered among the top 1% of sellers in that company Well Skin and here is what he said about it:

“Between 1994 and 5, Nu Skin, the leading MLM program, put me to the test for a year, devoting all my time to climbing to the top 1% of participants (including ALL participants, including dropouts). During that year, I kept a careful record of my spending and wounded with expenses in excess of $ 1,500 per month, including the company’s products and services, plus all operating expenses such as travel, telephone, computer supply, advertising, meeting room, etc. My commissions totaled about $ 250 per month, showing an annual loss of about $ 15,000. “

Alas !!

2. My friend Mike put it together own report and concluded that 92.3% of MLM consultants lose money.

Can you make money with Epicure? I know every counselor will say their opportunity is different (it’s ironic that everyone says so), but I still come across an MLM venture so different that more than a few people at the top can make decent money.

We had an income report, but I would bet that Epicure is exactly the same as the others …

Epicurean complaints and positive reviews

I found it hard to find a lot of reviews or complaints on Epicure. It seems to have been extremely popular at the time of this writing.

Here’s someone who reviewed Epicure versus a meal delivery subscription:

He says Epicure was a better option. Here’s the review stuff. Sometimes you have to take them with a grain of salt, because a lot of them are made by people who sell Epicure, which was the case here. There’s nothing wrong with selling an item a favorable review (I’d expect that), only it remains unbiased.

Here are some interesting things I found on Reddit:

Epicure is awful

And here’s another one that shows you how people think about MLM companies, including Epicure:

Epicure is a pyramidal scheme

These types of companies are always called scams and pyramid schemes by a nice section of people.

I’ve seen some comments on how the products are really good. But always attached “but”.

“The products are good, but they come from a pyramid scam.” Stuff like that.

Is the epicule a fraud or a pyramid scheme?

I said that Epicure is a fraud nor is it a technically pyramid scheme. Here’s where MLMs get into trouble.

  1. Even if it’s not a pyramid scheme, many out there automatically think of MLMs as pyramid schemes. And thanks to the internet, this is becoming increasingly true. (Did you believe me? Check out this popular anti-MLM sub on Reddit.) It makes selling even harder for you.
  2. If recruitment becomes more important than retail, it starts to get a pyramid scheme-y. (Yes, that was the word I just coined.) I came across MLM where you could make more money through retail sales compared to hiring. You get big sums when you have a big team.

  • Pretty cheap startup costs
  • Mostly consumer products, which means you may have an easier time with re-customers
  • I read that the products are very good

  • Consumable products are too expensive to actually make good money (and yet they are more expensive than other similar products, which can make retail sales more difficult)
  • To sell a company, you have to pay
  • If you can’t sell a lot of dishes, they have to get hired to make a decent income
  • Almost no one makes money on MLM, whether they hire or not
  • Many people watch MLMs and just consider them scam bats
  • You have to do a good chunk of home parties to make some money (this could be a pro if you enjoy home parties)

If you love organizing home parties and just want to make a few bucks here too, Epicure might be fine. But beware that you may spend more than you realize.

An alternative to epicure

If you like the idea of working for yourself from the comfort of your home or anywhere, there are better ways to do it than MLM (in my opinion).

In fact, the way I do it is through this blog.

You see, this is a blog with associated marketing. I give information that I think people will want, and then I recommend products to them. If they buy through my site, I get a commission.

Basically, I recommend other people’s products.

But different people from MLM do it because I have to worry:

  • Purchase a Starter Kit
  • Home parties (or online parties)
  • Recruitment
  • Training people
  • People with a cold message
  • Asking Mom and Dad to buy from me
  • I’m bored friends

Listen, you can do whatever you want, just trying to give you my view of things. I did MLM for a yearTrust me when I tell you affiliate marketing is so much more relaxed. Quick not fast or easy either way, but keeps the way to get more cool!

I had room here to tell you all the details, but I encourage you to check out mine A free guide to affiliate marketing for beginners if this sounds like something you’re interested in.

Can you make money with Epicure? You can. But you can also win the lottery. I know it sounds dramatic, but given that almost everyone loses money in MLM, it really brings it dramatically.

In a report on the FTC website I mentioned above, the author said this:

“The failure and loss rates for MLM are not comparable to legitimate small businesses, which have been found to be 39% profitable over the life of the business; while less than 1% of MLM participants profit. MLM makes even gambling as a safe bet in comparison. “

Gambling is a safer bet.
