Number Ecommerce tools are relentlessFrom shopping software to marketing automation tools, setting up your online store can be a confusing process.
With over 5 years of e-commerce games and more than a decade in internet marketing, I know which products work. The point is not that every product works for every type of store or person.
It’s hard to know what helps save time and hassle, which are a waste. There are several categories of ecommerce applications to keep in mind:
- Website tools – to set up shop and assist with management
- Research tools – Learn about your competitors, identify opportunities in your niche, and learn how to improve your position and campaigns
- Business tools – to manage the day-to-day business, logistics and finances of your ecommerce store
- Marketing tools – tell the world you know it exists, drive traffic, convert leads to customers and build your brand
- Analytics tool – Let me tell you how well everything you do works and notice the leaks in your sales funnels
Each tool category serves an important function in your business, but investing in every tool in each category would also bankrupt the most successful big companies.
There were simply too many tools chosen, which is why I put together this list of ecommerce tools. Before you spend your fortune trying out everything that exists, find out what your time and money are worth and what isn’t. Combined with a clever marketing strategy, the right e-commerce marketing tools and tips, you can grow your online store.
Where and how to host your ecommerce site are important choices that affect the visibility of your site, the duration, and the fees you pay each month for hosting. Knowing what’s important can also be a challenge – site visitors love high-speed downloads and user experience, but as a site owner, you need to keep in mind scalability, logistics, and more.
To choose an e-commerce tool or platform, keep in mind your technical skills and budget as well as factors such as SEO, mobility, on-site search (good website researcher) and scalability that make it easy for users to find your site and your business growing. And don’t forget the importance of an ecommerce blog for your store. Having a blog is a great way of demonstrating authority and credibility, adapting your SEO muscles and empowering customers for your online business.
The following is a list of creme de la creme; web site tools that I am willing to take down and say will help you grow your online store. If you want to find out why and what other ecommerce shopping carts are out there, check the full list.
Ecommerce Website Tools
When you want out-of-the-box hosting and enjoy drag-and-drop editor flexibility, options like BigCommerce or similar SaaS e-commerce platform are ideal. Hosted ecommerce stores are quicker at solving technical issues (such as e-commerce rush or server problems) that could cause system crashes and cost sales. Easy to set up with no expertise, feature-packed, and easily scalable. The only downside is that the monthly fees can be high for this type of ecommerce tool.
If you know how to code for an ecommerce site or have a developer, X-Cart is an open source option that integrates easily with WordPress. This is not a smart choice for DIY if you do not like to code. X-Cart also offers a setup where you can use their software on their hosting, which Magento, their best competitor, can’t do. The platform offers several payment gateways and SEO capabilities and is more useful than Magento. It is a smart choice if you are moving from in-store to in-store to a more scalable model.
When your technical skills are minimal and you don’t have the resources to hire a web developer, Shopify and similar e-commerce tools are a good choice. Stuffed, scalable and offering numerous templates for different niches, Shopify stores are an e-commerce plug-and-play. Ranking issues, clumsy WordPress plugins and URL structures that are difficult to modify can still increase retention rates with SEO direct SEO.
For ecommerce store owners who love WordPress and are comfortable with it, WooCommerce is a good choice. The free option is a little difficult to measure, but it’s a good idea to evaluate the experience of your site visitors. You need to buy upgrades if you want all the bells, but a website built on WooCommerce can compete with those built on some more expensive paid carts.
When your budget is nothing, PrestaShop is a strong option. A truly free ecommerce site builder, it competes with WooCommerce and Shopify for the number of features offered. For ease of use, it’s as good as you can hope for a free ecommerce platform, though if your store is growing fast, it can be a little difficult.

Ecommerce Research Tools
Developing a successful ecommerce business is about gaining a competitive edge. If you are unsure of the competition, you lose.
Most good ecommerce research tools are affordable or offer trial versions, making them available to all business owners. Of the hundreds of existing options, we have identified three ecommerce companies that can benefit from.
Unless you are dealing with white labeling or manufacturing your products, one of the major concerns of your store is the goods you carry. Jungle Scout helps you identify the top products for your niche and track their performance on Amazon.
If you sell on Amazon and from your own site, this is an intelligent product research choice. Pricing for the app ranges from a $ 29 monthly subscription, which allows one user to track up to 40 products to a one-time $ 197 Chrome extension fee, which contains details on profit margins, items, monthly revenue, and more.
Ecommerce owners who want insight into how the site works, the top keywords in their niche, and their competitors can benefit from SEMRush. This ecommerce research tool tracks over 106 million keywords and tracks over 87 million domains.
You can audit your own website or competition and get a report listing the strengths and weaknesses of a complete site, compare sites in your niche, improve SEO and identify keywords, or analyze the effectiveness of an ad campaign. Prices range from a monthly subscription of $ 69.95 to an annual fee of $ 5 499.50, based on the number, purpose and depth of the reports you need.
I use Ahrefs to understand ecommerce web marketing strategies. You can easily identify a competing marketing strategy by looking at their backlinks. If you could only afford one SEO, a research tool – it would be Ahrefs. It’s great all in one tool, but it lacks some of the deeper features like content analysis and link revision.

Once you have a store, you have to stock it, track employees or outsource employees, monitor your budget, and deal with day-to-day finances. Starting with a good task manager helps you make the array of tasks you face a little more manageable, and keeping track of your time (and that of your employees) helps you stay on track.
Look for tools that streamline your business processes in a way that is consistent with your natural organization system. Do the features offered match the tasks you need to perform, or are they more like great objects that interfere with what you need to do?
The tools below are my choices for running smoothly. Take a look at them, give them a free trial if their function is right for your business, and if a free trial is offered if a particular tool seems to fit your ecommerce store.
Aligning services for product-seeking companies and customer-seeking manufacturers, Sourcify reduces the risk associated with the manufacturing process by vetting their manufacturers. The service provides a money back guarantee if store owners are unhappy with the final product. Sourcify also offers project management tools to streamline the production process and offers customers three vendors’ offers for each project. There are three plans for pricing, starting at $ 399. The primary difference between plans is the number of units per production batch.
Veeqo is a stock management solution that helps small businesses that sell across multiple channels stay on top of orders and avoid over-selling. Veeqo offers over 40 integrations to pull inventory from all your channels in real time, updating all your stores as you sell. Control exactly how much stock is available for each store, keeping the stock level 100% accurate.
This time management software makes keeping projects on budget an easy task. Users can record hours, track the amount of time spent on each task, record and skip between more time based on the task they are currently doing. Ecommerce store owners can use TickSpot’s reporting features to track project budgets and productivity, assign tasks to their team members, or set up recurring in-app projects. Prices range from free for one project to $ 149 for unlimited projects.
Available to companies and individuals, Asana is a SaaS Task Management platform that enables task scheduling, scheduling and monitoring. Files can be imported or linked from a platform within them, and team members receive reminders of upcoming and recently missed deadlines. Discussions and discussions with the team allow for clear communication and collaboration from anywhere in the world. Many freelancers already use Asana, which makes it a natural choice to manage your outsourced tasks, including content marketing and content creation. Most small teams can get with a free membership, but Asana Premium also has great prices, ranging from $ 6.25-11.99 per month, depending on payment options and number of users.
Source of inventory
Available as a fully automated SaaS ($ 199 per month) or exclusively for inventory management ($ 50 per month), Inventory Source automatically syncs your inventory, updates your site, and integrates ordering and tracking functionality. You can buy additional features like Push to eBay and the Shopify turnkey website.
A stock source can save you the hassle of “out of stock” messages on popular products on your site. Over 100 shipping companies are integrated with the stock source, but if your preferred supplier is not on the list, you can add them. Inventory Source has more than 20 integrations, including Shopify, WooCommerce, 3D Cart, BigCommerce, Walmart, Amazon, Jet, Magento, X-Cart and Ordoro. Custom integrations are also available.
A competitor to inventory sources, the Oberl interface is more useful, but many features are similar. The software helps ecommerce store owners import, customize, and track products shipped with sales. Oberlo also has features that help store owners find replacement suppliers, track sales, and connect existing stores to Oberlo suppliers. Three pricing plans are available, ranging from a cheap option for stores with 500 products and 50 orders or less per month to an option of $ 79.90 per month for unlimited orders and 30,000 products. Warning? Oberlo was made specifically for Shopify and AliExpress sources.
Using Ingram Micro’s third-party warehouse network and fulfillment centers, Shipwire keeps your inventory securely stored and close to your customers. The idea behind this SaaS inventory management, tracking and shipping management is solid. Just one catch: Shipwire is faced with numerous customer complaints because of unclear billing methods and incorrect shipping methods. Pricing information is available for download on their website, but keep in mind that Shipwire charges a minimum of $ 500 per month for all customers on delivery, regardless of the number and value of orders shipped.
Founded by a former apparel retailer, TradeGecko is designed to facilitate retail returns. The company offers four monthly plans: Basic ($ 99 per month), Business ($ 249 per month), Business Premium ($ 449 per month, $ 359 per month if paid annually) and Enterprise ($ 999 per month, $ 799 per month if paid annually) .
By solving tasks such as inventory management, order synchronization, product linking, and running reports, TradeGecko helps you avoid reselling and stay on top of inventory without the need for spreadsheets and headaches. The launch still irons out some bugs, but is quickly gaining recognition as a vital part of many e-commerce small and medium-sized businesses. It is compatible with Magento, Shopify, Amazon, WooCommerce and several top notch tools.
With over 75 features designed to facilitate inventory and product management, shipping and tracking, Shipping Easy is an e-commerce workhorse. More than 50 application and e-commerce integrations are offered for this SaaS, and delivery is via DHL, UPS, FedEx, and USPS. The four standard pricing options range from $ 29 to $ 99 per month, with corporate pricing also available from $ 149 per month.
A free alternative to applications like Xero and Zoho Books, Wave is a fast growing accounting and invoicing platform for small and internet businesses. Business prices are also available. Internationally supported and based in Canada, Wave integrates with other Stripe, Workato, Paypal, Shoeboxed and Google Drive applications. Features include direct storage, salaries, annual record keeping, invoicing, tax calculations, tax deductions and receipts management. The interface is a little slow and UX might be better, but this is a solid free app for small budget ecommerce stores.
This online multichannel inventory management tool has an iPhone app to get your business moving and intuitive user-friendly design. Prices start at $ 50 per month, but a free trial is available for ecommerce store owners who prefer to test the water before committing. Solutions for businesses with more than 10,000 orders a month are also available.
EcomDash offers a range of options ranging from activity tracking to inventory optimization, order processing and sales reporting. Integrations include BigCommerce, Shopify and WooCommerce baskets, as well as QuickBooks Online for financing.

Ecommerce Marketing Tools
Your ecommerce store will not sell if you don’t sell it. There are hundreds of marketing applications that address everything from social media automation to affiliate marketing and relationships and loyalty management.
You need an option that allows you to track campaign performance, minimize your time spent on tasks such as social networking, email and content creation, enable your segment and track your customers, while not costing you a fortune. It’s a tall order, but several of the tools listed below are eligible.
Email can be a hassle for small businesses, but if you want to expand your business and bring customers to your ecommerce site, you need to put together a list and use it. MailChimp is one of my favorite email marketing automation tools – packed with templates that are easy to customize and use, ready to segment and contain analytics, MailChimp is an email service for many ecommerce merchants. New businesses can benefit from low-cost entry-level entry, while an established large-list business can opt for one of its more powerful plans: Growing Business ($ 10 per month) or Pro-Marketer ($ 199 per month).
Offering seven price levels of $ 9 per month- $ 899 per month, Campaign Monitor offers lots of price points for customers, but without a free plan. The point? This automation of SaaS email campaigns is much cheaper than competitors like MailChimp. Fewer templates are used than most competitors, but the design quality is higher. Keeping to the theme of great design, the UX is amazing, and the drag and drop editor is beautifully simple. Data import is short and you can target and segment your list in a nicely complex way. The tool includes a landing page creator, but it can be used awkwardly. Support options are also limited. If you have the cash and the size of your list to opt for an unlimited plan, it might be worth it. Otherwise, better tools are available for less.
Feeds4.com was created to consolidate and distribute content for affiliate marketing. They help marketers distribute promotional content across the web and facilitate the import of promotional content from marketers through a convenient API, publisher platform, and code examples. Feeds4 offers Coupon Data Plans starting at $ 99 / month.
Although the user interface might be better and the large amount of data on the dashboard is likely to intimidate you, Active Campaign has a great reputation for updating and changing based on user comments. A free trial is available and paid plans range from $ 9 to $ 415 per month based on the number of contacts in your list and the accounts you need. You can run a single campaign or do all the email marketing from an active campaign and rely on their powerful analytics to help you get the most out of the data you get. If you’re considering this option, one caveat: if you want to see how your email campaign looks on different devices and browsers, you’ll have to pay. Prices for these platform tests range from $ 5 for 5 tests to $ 60 for 100 tests.
Bulk.ly dominates the world of simple social networking by allowing you to upload a spreadsheet of posts on social media and submit them to your Buffer account. You can move a post order, add relevant hashtags, categorize and schedule your social media from a single CSV file. The tool makes use of the content free, but it’s still in beta, so you’ll need to request an invitation if you want to use this tool. If you want to test the app, a 7-day free trial is available.
Content is still king, despite annual predictions that its reign will end. With the Buffer app, it’s easy to track your audience’s interest in social media for topics, plan your social media calendar, and boost engagement. Browser extension makes it all too easy, and the analytics dashboard offers an interesting insight into your audience’s behavior. Individual plans range from $ 0 to $ 10, but do not include analytics tools, an RSS feed, or a social calendar. Team and agency plans range from $ 99 to $ 399. Prices are annual. The free plan does not integrate with Pinterest, and all premium plans have a limit of 2000 posts per month, regardless of the number of users (up to 25 team members can add 150 total social accounts on the most expensive plan).
OmniStar (OSI Branch)
This reference marketing software offers three pricing plans, ranging from $ 47 to $ 247 per month, based on the total features and number of tracking requests and associated users required. The $ 97 and $ 247 plans include pop-ups, application forms, and thank you pages. OSI Affiliate helps you market your affiliate program by placing it in a directory and allows you to keep track of how your affiliate program works. The company does not charge a commission. Discounts, rewards, social networking, bidding management and more features are included in the software. OSI Affiliate integrates with more than 60 ecommerce apps and shopping carts.
Anything that makes buying and interacting with your brand fun will drive sales. That’s the principle behind gamification, and you’ll find that it’s echoed in the Antavo app. Antavo, used equally by top retailers and small brands, will work to manage loyalty for your ecommerce store online and on mobile phones with more than 40 loyalty schemes. Prices are quoted individually depending on the needs of your ecommerce store.
An alternative to Antovo, Smile.io offers points and rewards, encourages your customer referrals and helps you shower extra goodies with your best customers. The app is the new incarnation of Sweet Tooth and is used by more than 15,000 active stores. Plans are available for ecommerce stores of all sizes, from single product stores, single product stores to mass ecommerce businesses. The open API allows developers to integrate the app on any platform, and integrations with BigCommerce and Shopify are included right out of the box. Basic membership is $ 59 per month, small business membership is $ 199 per month, and professional membership is $ 399 per month. Business clients are given personalized offers.
Designed to give e-commerce insights into the target market’s reactions to their store and site, User Testing is an invaluable tool. By bringing together viewers around the world to match the targeted market segments, the app asks audience members to provide live video responses to your site. Uncensored and honest, they can be hard to listen to, but worth it. Mobile apps can be reviewed, and if you don’t like the standard 20-minute user test preview, you can ask custom questions. Pricing information is in custom pricing.
Capturing and converting leads is a feature of this powerful application. Using competitions, pop-ups and landing pages helps you identify and segment your leads. The app also allows you to target email campaigns to these newly captured leads. Custom features like drag-and-drop editor make it easy to customize your campaigns. Relatively new, Wish Pond is still working on some internal bugs, and customer service is still not as good as it could be. A 14-day free trial is available, with app pricing options at $ 49, $ 99, or $ 199 per month. The $ 49 plan does not have access to the app API.
Klaviyo is a comprehensive digital marketing tool for processing everything from A / B testing to email. If you’re an ecommerce newbie and don’t have the budget to hire a full-time digital marketer to help you start drawing traffic, this app is a good option. You can use Klaviyo’s API to integrate with any application you want or work with any of their myriad integrations, including CRMs and high-end e-commerce platforms. The app is free for up to 250 contacts and is gradually increasing with the number of contacts, reaching $ 1,700 per month for 150,000 contacts and custom offers for businesses outside that size.
Personal touch is very advanced in e-commerce, and something Buzzstream can make it easier. By directing immediate influences, building personal relationships, and following conversations, you can increase the visibility of ecommerce commerce and increase some good karma in the process. Teamwork on BuzzStream is easy, as the platform provides one centralized database for the work of members of your organization. Work on building links, driving buzz, exhibiting PR and promoting your store blog content from one platform. Prices range from $ 99 to $ 999 per month; free trials and some free tools are also available.
Exit the Bee
Using behavioral psychology to target customers at the right time, Exit Bee pop-ups increase email conversion rates and subscriptions, reduce shopping cart abandonment, and provide site visitors with carefully targeted messaging. Pricing plans start at $ 22 per month for three campaigns. Basic, Pro, Starter and Enterprise options are also available, and prices vary depending on the number of campaigns, site visitors, and sites you want to reach. Installation is quick and easy, takes less than two minutes – even without expert knowledge. The UX is nice and the performance is smooth, but faster delivery of pop-up intent with the output can be more efficient.
Metric is a combined platform for ecommerce brand growth. It monitors user behavior on the site and brings insight into marketing and sales that will be used to optimize marketing spend and ROI, CRO, product management. The customer database offers comprehensive insights into individual customer journeys and segmentation to identify specific customer groups. All of this information is integrated with email functionality to relevantly engage and trigger resale (no restrictions on contact lists and emails sent). Prices depend on the features used by the Essential Plan, analytics only, starting at $ 119. Metric integrates fully with stores on Shopify, WooCommerce or Magento and you do not need any settings to start processing data.
Offering a full suite of e-commerce applications, Store Ya makes this list for the sake of creativity from developers and friendly UXs. Most popular apps include Facebook Shop and Traffic Booster. Designed for marriage on social networks and digital marketing features, most Ya Ya apps are free – a good boon for ecommerce store owners with a small budget. The most expensive app, the Facebook Shop, is $ 79.99 a month.
Brands, no matter how big or small, must create a consistent aesthetic that will make it easy for people to identify with the lifestyle of the brand. Instasize is a mobile application that sets out all the content editing tools that content producers need to ensure that their images are cohesive and have branding. It’s an all-in-one photo and video editor that lets you play with a variety of professionally designed filters, themed borders, collages, and custom text styles for a more personalized Instagram feed. The basic version is free to download on iOS and Android, but it can also opt to upgrade to Premium for $ 4.99 per month to access all new Instasize release filters and limits each month for its premium members.

Tools used for Analytics ecommerce
The analytics tool uses data science to help you understand what customers want, why they came to your store at all, and how you can attract them more. Observing these statistics is not a bonus in e-commerce; it is a necessity. Actual accuracy, monitoring customer behavior, generating reports, and insight into your sales and marketing processes and insights into site conversion optimization are key to your business’ ultimate success. Fortunately, getting huge amounts of useful information is usually cheap, if not free. The tools below make it easy to use this information, even if you are not a statistician.
VWO: A visual web page optimization tool
The list of features offered by VWO goes beyond basic analytics. The tool offers heat maps and click maps to help you optimize conversions. It integrates well with most major ecommerce platforms and allows you to test, analyze, edit, and target campaigns. Prices start at $ 49 per month (charged annually, $ 59 per month) for up to 10,000 site visitors. Businesses with up to 300,000 site visitors can find a plan in the price range of up to $ 729 per month if paid in advance or $ 855 per month if paid monthly. Larger stores may request a customized plan.
Optimize Google Analytics
Developed in conjunction with Stanford statistics, Optimizely’s analytics Stat Engine is a powerful tool that uses consecutive testing to help you evaluate performance over time. One of the many features included in the five Optimizely ecommerce tools (their 6th TV tool) is the workforce of these applications. Prices for Optimizely products are self-quoted, though a free trial of the Web Experimentation Tool is offered.
